email newsletter with HTML & CSS. Deployment method. Please help! Urgent.
I am new to this forum and I bring along a couple of questions.
I normally code my HTML with inline styling with a text editor. Open it up with a browser, select all and copy & paste to Outlook or Word to do a mail merge to do a mass deploy of email newsletter (so is free of charge, doesn't need to pay service like mailchimp).
But recently i got into a problem. I need to create a new template of HTML email that will work for both PC email, such as Gmail or OUTLOOK and IPHONE/ANDROID.
I noticed I'll require some conditioning for different CSS and using @media type. This work with non email but web base newsletter but when deploy to outlook or android outlook/gmail. I am not too sure how this work. If i do how i normally do, all the CSS coding will be gone. If i open it with a browser, select all and copy & paste to outlook to deploy, what this does will only capture the current state of the layout, all the CSS conditional will be gone. So when deploy, it will only look like the version I hit "COPY" & "PASTE". no matter what device is viewing the newsletter.
How do i maintain the CSS coding when deploy? or does it even work? I read about it in many places teaching how to code email newsletter with @media but never once mention how to deploy it.
Do I need service like mailchimp to deploy html email with CSS? is there any software I can download for free or purchase without restriction?
Please advise. Or any alternative way to code this.
