amazon powered webstore nav bar issue

Hello,

This is my first post here. I have a little experience with HTML and CSS making small edits to existing code on wordpress powered sites. I use firebug to find the lines of code and then make changes in a custom .css file. I am trying to make this amazon powered store look not quite so basic, but its kind of hard with the drag and drop features that make up the amazon webstore back end.

I can not for the life of me figure out how to make the nav bar not go white when hovering over a link.

see ex. www.forthtec.com

I know this is probably something simple but I cannot get it configured right.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you mean the main menu items, I like the hover effect of those. If you mean the sub menu, that's gonna be difficult. Hover CSS doesn't show up in Firebug. And you have three style sheets, of which one is an enormous single, compressed line, and another is more than 1600 lines long...
