Resolved button

Is there a way of making the "RESOLVED" button more noticeable so more people use it?

That's the problem. There is no "RESOLVED" _button_.. you have to edit the original post and select RESOLVED from the drop down; which, under certain circumstances, isn't always possible.

The drop down should be replaced with a Resolved button. THAT would make it more noticeable.

I like the idea but I suppose this is not a standard vBulletin feature and would need to be programmed specifically?

Which, if the source code were obtained, is possible; but any future "updates" to the script could over-write the mod. And it would probably be a PITA.

Perhaps someone from CF's parent company could suggest such a mod to the developers of vBulletin.

I saw a discussion about this on another forum where the consensus appeared to be that having the OP mark the thread as resolved when the first poorly conceived answer is supplied that kind of does what they want tends to prevent the next three or four better and better answers being posted in the first place. By not marking the thread resolved at the first answer that the OP thinks answers their question it makes the thread more useful when any better answers get added (even if the OP has gone then for anyone searching for an answer to that question).

vB provides the ability to create your own plugins and use hooks in the application to insert the code you need (such as the functionality to add an approved button), which wouldn't be lost in an update or any normal function of the forum.
