Strange double page-load glitch

I wonder if anyone could possibly explain why the theme I've just installed for my tumblr blog has this strange double-blink whenever I refresh or navigate to a different page.

The page loads, but then blinks off and loads again in quick succession. It's annoying and distracting.

there's a large block of JavaScript at the top of the page, outside of the head section, tat could be causing some issues.

Also, do you realize the theme is named after a sexually transmitted disease? I'd be wary of anything with a name like that.

Thanks, DanInMa, I hadn't noticed the name of the theme, but now you mention it...

No idea what that JS does, so don't know if it's something I can get rid of. Oddly, the double load issue stopped the other day, but then started again today.

Could it be anything to do with the speed and efficiency with which a given browser/internet connection renders the page?
