Books for Server, Linux, Apache, LAMP

Hi all,

I am new here. I just joined the forum because I think it is the best web programming forum out with interesting people who can help me with my web programming issues.

I am quite new to web programming. I have been working as electronic engineer and I want to shift to web programming. I am interested in php programming for the moment. I actually want to start my own web agency.

I currently want to learn about the following:
1) Server - Web Server Administration - http, ftp, smtp protocols, web hosting, backups etc
2) Linux
3) Apache
4) LAMP

Could anybody please tell me which books I need to learn the above. I need beginner's level books.

Regards
Jean Luc

Welcome to the forum. There are a number of Linux distros availible and they all have their share or gunho followers as well as haters.. You will have to try some out to see if they work for your needs.. Debian and Slackware from what I have heard are more difficult to learn but are decent for servers.

As far as getting your feet wet with Apache, and PHP.. I would recommend getting a book from the SAM's Learn in 24 hours/7 days series (will get you the very basic stuff).
