Unhappy Drag and Zoom Map - Bugs & Issues

Hello,

I am trying to get a map done, of which is in it's first stages. The map currently has the normal view and then you can zoom out of the map a total of eight times. I have also added a co-ord for the first yellow square you can see at 1,1 (looks like 6,4 but this is including the boarder).

The first problem I have been having is that the co-ord I have added for the first square, I would like it to have an image in the background, of which is not always located in the same location as this shows where the user is. There are other markers which will be needed so I cannot apply them to all of the co-ords either. This one, I tried applying a class of 'here' to, of which had no effect.

I then went on to find further bugs, of which I'll list below:
  1. Load the page and drag the map and then try to zoom in/out which causes the maps to disappear.
  2. Upon loading, if you zoom in, the map allows you to which jumps to the most zoomed out view. If you don't zoom out then try later, it does not allow you to jump to the most zoomed out view.
  3. Zoom all the way out and then back in and the map view area will be pushed down, of which will re-correct itself upon dragging the map at all.

Thank you so very much for any help and/or advice in helping myself progress with this interactive map.

Best Regards,
Tim

Edit Sorry, you can view this page here!

EDIT: I also need help adding two buttons somewhere to zoom in/out as I forgot not all mouses have a mouse wheel...

Not very clear what the issue is I'm afraid. I can drag the grid, but can see no way of zooming in or out?

You have to use your mouse wheel which has just made me think that I should implement a button to do so as well for those who don't have mouse wheels...

Tim

Ha! It never occurred to me to use the wheel! Bit of a UX failure

Just discovered you can zoom in/out via the arrow keys to see the same errors I've posted above.
