My IE takes a solid two minutes to load, and another 30 seconds to close with errors. Firefox is about 3 seconds.

I would say your problem isn't with IE, it's with that Pentium II (and 128MB RAM) you're using.

I just brought up IE in under 1 second. It was literally up before I could think about clocking it.

Thats not why everyone hates I.E, its because its so hard to make your website I.E compatible. Why don't CSS gradients show up in I.E, and why does it render objects in different places, than where other browsers render objects?

I timed it, it took 22 seconds to load and 9 seconds to close with an error box.

When I do web design I will only code for firefox and I'll put "This website is best viewed with Firefox" on it. No matter how hard I try, IE never works correctly, you have to search all over google for a hack for it.
