A full-page ad on CF? No, this is not a good thing.
The banners are annoying enough, but OK. You have to give the new owners some room to do business and I can live with that. But a full-page, take-over-the-screen advertisement hitting me in the face when I land on the CF homepage? WHAT THE F---?! Now I've had to make CF a restricted website in IE in order to keep that garbage out of my way. (And no, I'm not going to install any extra plugins or extensions to IE to selectively block the offending portions...now you simply lose everything from me apart from my IP address and OS/browser info. No more analytics, no more ad services, no more of anything else.)
So if anyone from the overlords' office actually reads this feedback section then please tell them that I am personally put off by this. Let them know it's me. I'm sure that will get things moving.
Seriously though, much more of this type of boneheaded "marketing" and I'm afraid I'll be out of patience. I can't tell you how many members will go elsewhere if things keep heading in the current direction...but I know of at least one.
I created my account here because WebDeveloper.com forced an ad redirect just once a day.
Make sure MAS Media big-wigs read this: If it happens here, I move, again. I'm done with marketing BS. Keep the banners, fine. Redirect where my browser goes just to throw some BOVINE SCATOLOGY in my face, F--K YOU!

Neither do I but as kind of expected as this was I’m also a little concerned about the effect this will have on new and established users. I would be awfully sad if I had to leave this community because people are driven off in masses and things are changing in ways with which I couldn’t identify anymore.

I sent an email to the owners and they are looking into the issue. They were not aware of the a pop up ad being added to the site. I will update you guys when I know more.
Thank you, OracleGuy. I really don't want to go find another forum, I like this one just fine, and would like to stick around.

Thanks guys; next time you see it popup, can you pull a screenshot of it and post 'er up?
I'm not sure of everything I've done with my browser now, but it turns out I get. . . ah no ads now at all, even when I want to get them. Lol.

I don't have to worry about this at work, as the network is scoured and scrubbed so I won't see it, here. But I don't have that luxury at home.
Thank you, Fou-Lu and OracleGuy, for fixing it.
