protoculous.js and jquery-1.7.2.js.

My webpage is using protoculous.js and jquery-1.7.2.js. When I load the page then I get weird errors which I am unable to understand:
Errors are:

Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'attachEvent'
observe
(anonymous function)

Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'dispatchEvent'
fire
_methodized
fireContentLoadedEvent

I thought rule number one was not to use multiple frameworks?

have you tried the jQuery noConflict()?

noconflict should only be the very, very last resort if you have no influence on the potential presence of a framework. The main thing is always to use one framework only.
