Need help creating a Web Development Porftolio

Has anyone scored a real job with no schooling or work history, but with only freelancing. I have been searching craigs list lately and found a few nice job's that require resumes and I believe some of them I may be able to get if I had a decent resume listing some of my good freelance projects and personal projects as some local start up companys are looking for developers to create and maintain there websites.

I was wondering if anyone could share there resume's so i could get an example.

I don't have a resume as no one in my owned firm asked for something like this.
What I can tell:
Freelancing is work history. You won't be asked if you payed taxes for your income ... you will be asked if you have experience with ... and this is where you show your freelancing jobs.
This jobs should be included in your resume.
Other advice: look on the net for standard resume models in your country and just fill them with things about you.

Let people know where you’re from. This is always interesting to know, and some clients prefer to work with people nearby or in the same time zone.
Validation is important, especially for Web designers. If you’re going to be building professional websites for clients, then your own website’s code should at least be valid.
Link images, not just text. Most people will click on images, expecting them to point somewhere.
If you don’t have any previous clients for your portfolio, create a WordPress theme, design an icon set, develop a Twitter mashup, etc. You have a lot of possibilities, and there’s a big difference between having one project to show in your portfolio and having none.

Resume

Buddy I am also a freelance writer but I got a good job on the basis of my freelance work, all you have to do is to mention the clear objectives, deliverable and post completion review of your work in the resume, this will work as a report of your project, as I did the same, key thing is that you have to portray a clear picture of your work in front of employer, and this is what schools are here for but people like us can also learn like I did.

myfayt can only hope to improve
You need to do two or three jobs for free to build up a portfolio.
