Is this strange?

I am a 13 year old boy, and have a vast knowledge of several online languages such as HTML, CSS, Lua, and I am learning Java and C++. I have begun to plan for an online MMORPG that will be released when I am the legal age, and I will begin building when I have all programs, languages, and other important notes mastered. Currently, I make my way just designing web pages and coding little projects to help my learning process. I want to know is it strange for me to know these kind of scripting languages?

Lerura will become famous soon enough
If you by "strange" mean "unusual", then i would say Yes.

Most at your age probably doesn't have a useful knowledge of even one of the languages.

In the future there would probably be more with the same progress at simalar age.

But don't let that stop you!!! Lots of engineers have started by tinkering around at your age. It can be very rewarding in the long run, at least in my experience.

I started messing with computers when I was three, courtesy of a TI-99/4A my Dad bought.

One word of caution, though: nobody, and I mean nobody, can master all languages. New languages are being invented all the time, and existing ones update fairly often. So don't wait to know everything - instead, start with what you do know and a rough idea what you want to achieve.

I've landed my last three jobs as a direct result of a pet project I've been working on. So having a tech hobby is definitely a good thing.

If you have a particular passion with a coding language(s) than go for it and make the most out of it; at this point you are probably still experimenting with other programming, but they can be secondary. It's alright to learn early, at least you'll be ahead of the game.

And if you need help on something, there are specialized coders here to aid you.

I wish I had started at that age. :/

It's normal these days now that almost everyone has a laptop and internet access

Unusual? On the contrary, there is a reason why "I'm making MMORPG!" coding guys are often the butt of game development jokes.

That being said, it's great you're picking up and getting into programming early and expanding! I started early as well, albeit with much more modest DOS and 13h graphic mode games!

It is totally normal, and you are a genius in this field. Since you got talents and you are very young, your future is radiant before you. So, keep on doing what you are doing now and don't give up even face up a difficulty. To be honest, I am really envy you.

It is appreciable not strange, you have a talent to do something. You need to only consider over your goal rather than mastering in every thing, bcoz it is not possible to be mastered in every thing.

I started learning HTML and CSS at your age and I was far ahead of all my classmates when I went to college for web design. I'm going to school for mobile development now and i'm so glad i started back when I was 13. It really good that you are interested in this stuff now because it takes years to get really good at this stuff!

Not strange at all. I also started with your age. HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Javascript... All that won't disappear in the next few years. It is a good investment. Good luck kid.
