Looking for some website critique

I'm new to coding and graphic design (2 weeks, self taught my youtube videos) and just looking for some feedback on a site im working on. I'm 95% finished with it (home page only) and just going to be doing some minor tweaks to color/spacing. Let me know what you think!

I'm pretty impressed for a beginner. One thing to try and keep from doing is using images for navigation... but the again it's your website so do what you like! You should keep at it. A website is never complete!

Edit: The fb/twitter pictures don't work, all one image.

This is a great start for a beginner. I would make one suggestion though, and that is to standardize the style for all of the black and white gradient headers. In other words, use the same style you have for "Browse By Category" and apply that style to "Aprils Hott Deals", "Latest Headlines" and "Monthly Top Sellers - March". Other than that, good job, and nice guns!

I agree with what was said before on trying to avoid using images in your main navigation.

In the footer, the image to the right of the twitter image isn't showing up. It links to Google. You could just remove it. Also, that whole line of stuff (starting with the facebook and twitter links isn't centered with the rest of the page. You could do that using the auto margin thing the same way you did with the main section and the outer wrapper div.

Otherwise, it looks good. Lot of information crammed in there, but it doesn't feel too overwhelming.

Impressed for a beginner

It looks quite good - this is really your first site?

One thing that bothers me personally is the scrolling "Latest Headlines" banner: I couldn't click on them, and the scrolling bothers me. Maybe it's just me, though...
