Some vira are designed to prevent certain AVs from removing them.

Try running Malwarebytes Anti-malware.

It have saved me, on several occations

Bad idea!

This would be killing the installation, to prevent it from dying.

If trying to remove the treat, you have a chance to save your data, while a reinstallation leaves no chance of saving any data.

There have been several vira that attempts to prevent scanning, but only a few, - if any, have been able to disable all scanning programs.

If the virus ends up with directly damaging the system, then a reinstallation would be necessary, but a reinstallation should never be first priority.

When that is said: If you have no important data on your computer that needs to be saved, you can just as well reinstall right away.

It does not sound good whatever it is. As previously mentioned, Malware Bytes is very good. It detects things that full AV's miss. For a free option, you can do worse than try Super Anti Spyware.

Hello,

Maybe try to use a different Anti-virus/ Anti-spyware protection system; there are plenty of others you can try.

Anyways, what is the name of the error that pops up after it crashes? If it is a page fault error, then there must be a problem with the video graphics card/ or some other hardware effect.

myfayt can only hope to improve
Anti-Virus programs screw up your computer more than fix it. I had AV on 4 computers, it killed all of them. Since 2002 I haven't used any and haven't had a single problem yet.
I do however keep the firewall up.

I agree. There are anti-virus/ anti-spyware protection software that have become too complex, being used for other purposes that they ruin your computer when errors start happening. For example, the Internet Security Suite that I have focuses too much on administrator/ limited user local security; you even need a code to do the process. If you end the installation/ uninstall of the software too early, the whole computer pops with more errors. Sure, the protection is decent, but there needs to be more improvements.

They should be more straightforward and to the point. I think that a site/ SE scanner like WOT (Firefox add-on) would help, then you know certain links have bad viruses/ malware.

Try it in safe mode, if not may be caused by some software and drivers
