Load Social Media Buttons Only On Mouseover

I have far too many social media buttons on one of my webpages. But, only a few people actually use these buttons to "like" or "follow" me. How can I make it so that the Facebook button, for example, ONLY loads for viewers who click a "Follow us on Facebook" button on my website. That way my other users aren't forced to load unnecessary Javascript.

Is there any way to only call the Facebook javascript file for users who click on a button?

Edit: Found a great example (notice their social media buttons)... http://blog.openviewpartners.com/

Anyone know how they did that?
