Physics site told me to come here?

In short, a teacher had written a question on the board in my roommates class and said no one has figured out the answer. I told him I would find it for him in 24 hours. He is in a math class and the equation looked like physics to me but I went on a physics forum and they members there suggested that I check out a computer coding forum as it looks like coding for a game or something. Figured I would shoot this by you guys.

here is the original "Problem"

I greatly appreciate any help. As to solving this if it is even something possible to solve. and if its not an explanation as to why so my room mate can present it to the teacher would be greatly helpful.

...
All those "r" s look like they could be Gamma char's and the "B" looks like it could be the Beta char
(both are math fxn's in high frequency)
....
my background is BSEE high frequency and UV light falls into the high frequency spectrum (hence why those chars stood out to me) as well as "Pmax" and "noise" which also weigh in heavily when doing high frequency- I do not think this is a code/game function at all (could be wrong though)...

It has been a long time since I have done any RF but; can you provide a little more background as to what the class is on? is it an RF class? is it an EE class? what level of math is it? (I assume differential equ- but why is your friend taking it then?)
there needs to be "some" context- there are just simply too many math equations out there to randomly guess what this is doing- and the green marker white board can be interpreted various ways

Its actually a pretty basic math class with a teacher who thinks he knows it all. From what it sounds like the teacher is a real jerk and just tries to make the students look dumb, even more reason I want to figured this out so my buddy can stand up to the teacher. Im sure the problem at hand has nothing to do with algebra lol

unfortunately without any more context I have no clue what any of that means-
If you are looking for something "smart" to rebut said jerk I would simply say

How are we supposed to solve a mathematical problem when you cannot even write it out correctly?
The first equation does not have a closing parenthesis, your "r" is indiscernible from the Gamma function denotation, your "B is indiscernible from the Beta function denotation, and it is unclear whether or not the "T" is supposed to be tau or "T"- furthermore is h being raised to the power of 1 or is that a denotation of h prime (differentiate h)? How can you expect results when you cannot even write legibly?
to add to that you said "algebra"
no most assuredly this is not a simple algebra problem- It looks to me as though it is someone trying to be slick with either Laplace or Fourier transforms... but I see what my background is- also in some random google's it seems to fit (in some-places) into probability statistics functions...
Is this an algebra level coarse? or is this guy just stroking his own ego? I've been out of the complex math world for a while- I can figure out how to do those fxn's and remember what they look like etc; but by no means do I reg practice... I think most of the population does not either... If you are trying to look "cool" or "impressive" to students, try being "cool" or "impressive" @ something relevant... of coarse a bunch of students are not going to have upper level math fxn's down; or they would have gotten this and it would not be impressive to pose as a question, it would be standard
