Why are ColdFusion Programmers so hard to find in the marketplace?

I'm a recruiter with a staffing company and I have a client who needs 5 ColdFusion Programmers for a full time position offering a salary of $80-105K base + bonus + full benefits located in Kansas.

The salary is very generous for the Kansas area especially but I'm having a hard time finding candidates..

Is it because ColdFusion is an older technology?

Well, if you or anyone you know is interested, please contact me, I'll give you more info!

Thank you.

Yes. Kind of considered obsolete. And it never was a really popular technology.

FWIW, anybody who knows JSP (or even ASP or PHP) can pick up on CF pretty quickly. Assuming they have a few brain cells.

If you didn't know, CF is built on top of JSP. It's kind of funny: A layer on top of a layer.

Ahh ok, thanks for the input, I'm not technical so this is very helpful. Makes much more sense now.

Do you know anyone that would be interested in the opportunity I have in Kansas?
