Welcome to the "Web Projects" forums. Before you post, make sure you've selected the correct category based on the size of your project (in US dollars), or whether it is a partnership or "looking for work" request instead. Observe the guidelines for this section:
To all thread starters, check your "pm" box for responses, as that's how bidders will be communicating with you mainly using. You can turn on new pm notification by going to "User CP"-> "Edit Options"-> "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages".
To respondents, avoid replying to a thread with a short generic response like "pm sent" as much as possible. It is pointless and clutters up the screen.
To respondents, don't reply to a work request with a summary of your resume. If you're not willing to spend the time to at least read the request and respond specifically to the request, then don't reply. The Web Projects forum isn't a place to get your resume/ portfolio posted on as many threads as possible, it's for the direct, human interaction between coder and client. Members who blanket the forums with their resume replies will be treated as spammers and banned.
To all thread starters, please update your thread's prefix to "resolved", when you've found a coder for your project or partnership (or wish to terminate the request). This is so coders don't waste time bidding on an invalid project. To do this, click on the "Edit" button under the first post of the thread, then the "Go Advanced" button. You have 14 days to update your thread's title.
1) Project Details: (be as specific as possible): Ok, Here is the situation. We own an online store and have made a good secondary income to support our family through craiglsist. Unfortunately our competitor (we know who it is), has been flagging our ads IMMEDIATELY. We have purchased auto-post software and phone verified accounts. He flags them so quickly and often that we have burned through those pva's like butter ($$$). Anyway we would like the ability to flag him back. I would like to find a programmer to help me with this and possible a couple of other projects. I would like to be able to "meet" you and communicate through video conferencing.

Let me understand--
So you are using Craigslist in a way that violates the Craigslist terms of use (blackhat usage), which if you are caught you are banned, right? And then someone (who is doing the same thing as you apparently) has figured out a way to find your blackhat accounts quickly and gets them banned? Correct so far?
And now you want to do the same back to him? Do I understand what you're asking for?
So you are using Craigslist in a way that violates the Craigslist terms of use (blackhat usage), which if you are caught you are banned, right? Wrong - i have had to repost MY ad (in one category, in one city) repeatedly because it keeps getting flagged and removed by my competitor. Craigslist does not allow "spamming".. which would be in violation.
And then someone (who is doing the same thing as you apparently) has figured out a way to find your blackhat accounts quickly and gets them banned? Correct so far? Wrong again - my accounts are getting "banned" because this fool keeps flagging me. Do you understand how craigslist works?
And now you want to do the same back to him? Do I understand what you're asking for?
BINGO - You kinda got it. I am going to give that P.O.S. a taste of his own medicine.
Craigslist doesn't care.. there are whole forums dedicated to this subject. They said sorry... two percent of posts are mis-flagged, please feel free to post again. HA! I can only post so many times from the same ip and same account. It is impossible to keep my ad up under those restrictions, when they get removed within an hour of my posting. If they did care they would require captcha for flagging as they do for posting. sounds simple enough. I have spent a lot of time (not spent with my baby girls) and money trying to keep my ads posted only to have them removed by some jackass. Fair is fair. If I can't advertise he won't be able to either. Believe me, I would rather not have to go through all of this. This fool is taking money from my family, and I think he should see how it feels. I think this software should be made public (maybe i will) so that craigslist gets off their *** and does something about this problem. Anyway I have the money to make it happen and I will.
Yeah but flagging doesn't do anything unless your post is against the TOS of craigslist right?
Unfortunately that is not the case. CL does not employ anyone to review posts... or flags. Any idiot can flag.... u can even be a bot (no captcha reqiured).
I have had to purchase accounts to repost my ad... this IS in violation of CL TOS.. however, I would not be in this position if I was not flagged for no reason repeatedly. Believe me, I would rather not have to spend all this time, money and effort... but it is what it is.
