I guess I could make up an assignment for you but don't you have some website idea in your head that you'd love to see come to life? Usually that's how web developers get started... they say "Wouldn't it be great if there were a website that did.... " and then they do it. It's usually crap, but they learn. And then they have another idea, do it, and learn. Etc.Etc.
Then they start taking on freelance gigs and get paid some money. Then they get a job in the industry. Three wives, four kids, and a mortgage later, they wonder what happened to their youth. Then they buy a sporty red convertable and announce to everyone they are going through a mid-life crisis, which is really complete bullcrap-- they just want an excuse to act like a 14 year-old. After a few months of that, they dream up the next Facebook or Google and become a multi-millionaire overnight.
