Cookies, as far as I can tell, will quickly run out of space for the amount of saved data I am envisaging. And while I perfectly understand your need to log in from a number of different devices, it won't really affect the intranet scenario - in which, in my case, no computer would be assigned to a particular person. The discreet part of it would need to be done with login passwords.

What about a MySQL database? Forgive my ignorance, but how would I go about exploring whether answers to questions could be saved to such a database? Doesn't it require non-html pages? I really am in the dark here, I'm afraid.
