Now, if you know that updating jQuery wonít break anything then you can safely go ahead and do it. After all, if you decide to add new features to your site you can rely on the fact that you can use the latest features of jQuery. However, if your site wonít change in the near future you can as well leave the version you have right now and update it with a major redesign of the site.
