ok, I just bought it brand new, so it is 1ghz lol. Secondly it's a laptop...so I cant open it up really. It's an athelon. If editing the bios is what I need to do, how do I go about doing that?

I am in the market for a new laptop. My parents don't want me to spend a ton so they gave me 2,000 to work with. So far I have fooled around with some sony's which I find to be overpriced...
