Seeking php coder for web game

    Team name:
    no name

    Project name::
    GreedSpace

    Brief description::
I am looking for one or two team members for an online space browser based mmo.
I have a working game up and running and will gladly give any interested party details on where to go see it. I have a long list of feature requests to be added and/or changed. The ideal candidate should be quite proficient at php/mysql and any other experience with simple graphics or anything is a plus.
The game has a budget in place for marketing and no real budget for development unless it's necessary to pay for a new site design or something. As soon as I find someone reliable who is willing to dedicate their time to the project I will flood the game with players.

    Additional info:

You do not have to pay for anything out of pocket, all financial expenses will be covered by myself. The game currently will be hosted on a dual xeon 2.8 ghz server with 2gb of ram hosted on a 100mbit/sec link at theplanet.com .. server is up and running the game as we speak.

    Target aim:
Free to play, pay for perks.

    Compensation:
Negotiable, willing to go up to as much as 50% of profits with the right person.

    Technology:
    PHP/MySql

    Talent needed:
one or two php/mysql developers that are highly motivated.

    Team structure:
    Me.

    Website:
    PM for details.

    Contacts:
PM me here or reply to this post.

    Feedback:
    Any

    About me:

Highly motivated entreprenuer with 3 years of profitable game development experience. I have other web based games that make high $XXXX per month in profit. I would like to get out of my comfort zone and focus on a game I would really enjoy playing, something set in space

So you mean we don't have to pay to code for you? That's comforting...

What about paying your coder for the work he/she does? You know, like what regular businesses do. (And I'm not talking about some vague future profit sharing consideration that may or may not ever happen, emphasis on "not".)

Here's a link that may interest you (There are three different articles; substitute "writer/artist" for "programmer").

I've been watching you troll these forums for quite a while Fumigator.

I don't really appreciate your rudeness.

I don't need to read any of your articles, I'm experienced and if the right coder comes along I can make him or her a very nice amount of side money.

If I don't find anyone willing to work on the percentage of profit sharing plan, I will gladly refocus and hire a full time employee.

I have a few programmers I do this with on other projects, so I have references if anyone who is seriously interested needs them.

Hope you grow up and find somewhere else to troll Fumigator.

FYI this is the project collaboration forum, so my request of profit sharing is perfectly legitimate in this forum.

At least its not a Mafia game.

On a serious note, you say the game is already up and running, do you have any proof of income/number of players?

I have proof of income for my other games, this game is brand new.

I have an ad budget in the thousands and can push players to it as soon as I feel comfortable there is a proficient programmer that is willing to bugfix/add features as we need them. The reason I'm saying this is because I want to stress that I have the capability to make an empty game very active and very popular in a matter of a few hours, not months.

I would love to discuss with a serious applicant exactly my ad strategies and am willing to show proof of income from other web games I own.

Seeing how you joined this month I'm sure you know all about me and my trolling ways. My intent in replying to your post was not to troll, but to warn away naive programmers who might fall for your trap.

I used to ignore these kinds of posts but I guess you could say I have grown annoyed at the large number of Unfinanced Entrepeneurs who want to scam programmers out of hard work, based solely on the promise of a big juicy share in the next "Travian". After all, it's no big deal to just whip up a couple of webpages, right? From what I hear this kind of thing is easy, so why should anyone expect to get paid?

On the other hand, you may actually be the one legit UE in the last 50 to beg for free work, in which case I apologize, and had I been suckered in-- errrr, assumed you are what you say you are, with the market and publicity you say you have, then boy howdy have I missed out on my chance, haven't I? Que Sera, Sera.

p.s. The articles I linked to are actually quite entertaining... I didn't write them, don't worry.

I forgive you fumigator, I jumped to conclusions about your intent, I am sorry myself for being naive.

Bottom line; I have experience in turning a website into a profit making machine.

Please, you haven't ruined any chances, PM me if you are sincerely interested in hearing more. I'd love nothing more than to prove to you I'm not some moron with a pipe dream and a godaddy hosting account
