    Build An Operating System

I know, this is a forum called "Web Projects", but there is no other forum for it.

Ok, so, the idea is to create an Open-Source operating system.

This could be UNIX based, but the specifics will be decided once we have a team together.

    People We Need:
    • Graphics Designers
      - Capible of creating professional graphics and icons.
    • Coders
      - Capible of coding in probably C.
    • Project Managers
      - Organised people who have a technical knowlage but will be able to help with the organisation of the project.

    Fumigator is absolutly right here.
If you really want to create a operating system then your best would to create a distrobution of Linux.

if i am correct (and im certain i am) there is a tutorial from the Linux magazine offering a tutorial and disc to create a linux magazine based on the Mandriva distribution.

easier than developing a brand new kernel.

Build your OS off a distribution of Linux. Lots of the hard work is already done. You can still heavily modify it to fit whatever it is you want if so desired. If you plan to customize it a lot you might want to look at the Gentoo distro, it gives you a lot of choice right off the bat.

If you want a more shake and bake distro of Linux look at the ubuntu family of distros.
