Need beta testers for new budget management site

Hello everyone! I have developed a new budget/money management web site in PHP/MySQL, and I am moving into the beta testing phase in the next week or so. The main functionality of the site is ready to go, but I'm sure there are tons of bugs to work out. Here's the main jist of the site:

The budget script basically allows you to fill out your budget and then keep track of your finances to match against what you budgeted. This is meant to be a long-term solution for your personal finances. First off, you enter in the areas where you spend money each month. Then, you budget how much you want to spend monthly in each area. Once you've filled out your budget entries, you can then add actual incomes and actual receipts. They are stored in the database, so you can keep track of where you're spending your money, how much, etc. I also have built a "Check Register" to help you keep track of where your checks were spent, what check number, how much, etc.

I'm looking for some experienced or semi-experienced beta testers to help me get this thing off the ground. I will be setting up a forum to keep track of bugs and feature requests. If you're interested, please Private Message me or reply here with your name, e-mail address, and your past experiences with beta testing. I look forward to hearing from you!

Just an FYI...this project won't take a lot of your time. The site is not hugely intense. I mostly just need some experienced coders or web site developers to go around and make sure the basic functionality works and try to break the system and stuff. Also, once you find out what works and what is confusing and stuff, I need suggestions to improve and make the site easier to use. Let me know if you can help out! Thanks.

How urgent are you wanting this? I can spare a few hours a week for it.

A few hours a week would be amazing! I'm just about to go live (get everything online) with the beta version. There's no urgency. I mostly want some experienced people to go over it with a fine-toothed comb and help me work out bugs, inconsistencies, etc. I'm not working under a concrete timeframe at this point. If you're interested, I'll send the beta info when I go live. Thanks!

Have you considered making this a sourceForge project?

Hmm, interesting thought. This isn't really open-source though. I've developed a script that will allow users to come to my site and do their budgeting stuff. Is SourceForge designed for that type of project?

Source forge is designed to facilitate collaboration between developers. I'm not 100% sure, but I do think it must use some type of open source license. But I could be wrong.

I'm actually going to need some people who are pretty unexperienced with financial / budget stuff as well. I've designed this script to be easy and straight to the point, but I need to make sure that is the case to most others as well. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks.

I'm interested to see what your site is all about so sign me up. I've thought about doing something along these lines myself actually.

(Just be prepared for frank honesty )

Is this going to be a free website?

I will most definitely take "frank honesty" into consideration! lol I love to learn from others' experience, so I welcome it!

I'm still open to suggestions about if it will be free or not. I definitely need to find a way for this thing to pay for itself, at least. I would rather not charge subscriptions, so I'm going to try to find a way around that.

Last night, I was able to get the last finishing touches on the design and tidy up the last couple of issues I knew of, so I think I'm ready to go. Night, Fumi, and any others interested, please PM your e-mail address, and I'll send out the details in the next 2-3 days. Thanks so much again for your willingness, guys!

The beta is now live and ready for more beta testers!

If you are willing and/or able to help out, I'd love to have you on board! PM me your e-mail, and I'll contact you with the details. At this point, I mostly just need some people who are interested in getting familiar with this script and how it works and let me know how to improve it and make it more user-friendly and intuitive. In other words, if you are not so strong with coding and logical thinking patterns, I need you! lol I'd like to find out how a "normal, everyday user" understands the script and how hard it is for him/her to figure out how it works.
