    Partner for Gaming Website

I'm looking at starting a video games website. Not one of those free ones that any Joe can make. I've got a few contacts within various gaming magazines and websites willing to set up interviews and stuff.

I'm gathering reviewers and writers, etc. But I really need a co-founder. PHP knowledge would be helpful as well.

Currently I'm setting up a portal system.

    Anyone interested?

    -Dan

What sort of budget do you have in mind for this sort of thing? I mean, to pay for hosting and domains and any registrations you'll probably need... If you're not any Joe, you'll need these things.

Well I'm somewhat curious, I wouldn't say I would (nor anyone for that matter) commit to anything without much more information though. Can you provide any other information? I'm an avid gamer, also writing my own 3d engine and looking to get work with an indy developer (if I somehow manage to pull that off without formal qualifications).

Yeah I shoulda gave some more info.

Basically, we're going to offer reviews for video games, any and all consoles we can cover efficiently. We're going to be covering system and industry news, keeping gamers informed. Mainly we will strive to be a welcome gaming community concerned with uniting gamers. We'll offer blogs, webmail, etc services gaming related.

Those are a few ideas we've come up with.

We're also considering a download center for gaming-related downloads.

Alright, I see where you're going with this. But I've seen this in dozens of other websites and magazines. What's your hook? What have you got that'll set you apart? That's what you really need, this is a hard market to effectively penetrate...

Is your idea to be *THE* community for gaming news and reviews? Perhaps you could consider folksonomy interwoven with various social networking elements and other Web 2.0 buzzwords. This seems to be the general trend in anything BIG and new.

If you're looking for a writer, contact me for my resume. I've done articles via telephone interviews.

Forgive me for not specifying: I'm looking for people to donate reviews. I'm on a low budget to an extent.

Erock: I shall email you soon.

Okay, I think the easiest way to do this would be to build from teh ground-up. Messing with a portal system would make it more difficult.

Okay, the-dream and myself are currently working on this. We'd love to have more help though. We still need to code the news system, blogs, and some other things. So if you feel like helping out, give us a holler.
