Going from Java 1 to Advanced Java
I started taking an Advanced Java class but I'm having some difficulty keeping up with the textbook that we're using - Java Programming: Advanced Topics (Third Edition) by Wigglesworth and McMillan. Does anyone have any suggestions for some study guides (other books) that might help bridge the gap between our first Java Programming book (Thompson Course Technology) by Joyce Farrell and this Advanced Topics textbook?

These tutorials were written by a computer science teacher for his students

I can't tell you how many times I've had to refer back to my basic programming book simply because I forgot something silly. Of course if you have no interest in computer science, then you should just buy the book to help feed the author. I mean, he's probably a professor who needs extra money anyways :P (obviously this discussion doesn't talk about the copyright implications of this, but I'm sure that that author has no interest in having his book online for download..) |
