I knew something was wrong with it!

Look at the sticky's in the forums, they're the most viewed :)

Mhtml 01-06-2004 03:22 AM

Because they're the best :), quality questions and clear precise answers...

jeskel 01-06-2004 08:54 AM

Well.... and they just don't leave the top of the page... :p

Well, this is one of the threads that actually outtrumphs some of the stickies - and it's been in the top since it was born, on the Technology and Sciences forum. <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=22282>.

This thread for the same forum also has lots and lots of views <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=14919>

To be sure, that forum generates pretty many threads with very high page views. Other such threads are present in this forum, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=26104>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...&threadid=9037>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=11254>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...&threadid=6262>, but then again these are the non-coding forums. Computer/PC forum likewise, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=29049> for instance.

As for the coding forums, it takes much for a thread to have a really high views number. Longer threads, of course, and often threads that engage the more proliferous posters. This thread in the otherwise low volume XML forum, for instance, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=11384>, or this one, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=18963>, or this former sticky, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=19775>

General Web Design forum, also a catch-all kind of forum, generates some threads with high views, but with far higher replies count, such as <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=27087>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=30181>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=29610>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=28739>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=26211> . Note that these for the most part are such threads that hold either religiosly watched or otherwise loaded subjects.

Threads in the JavaScript Programming forum tend to be more short lived. It's hard for a thread to remain on the top of the list ther efor very long, so the threads that do usually have titles lots of people are interested in, and few replies, such as <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=31005>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=10479>, or the surprisingly long <http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=26880>.

Oh, and I learned something from this thread - you can sort the forums according to number of views if you click that header.

There is one thread that literally became a one-on-one conversation (unless someone butts in :D).

jeskel 02-17-2004 11:08 AM

that is sweet :)
