embedding an external exe program into xml?
I posted a question in the programming section and realized it may be the wrong area.
I have a device that I use to control on/off switches on a circuit board. That program uses XML to work with the layout, button placement, looks, etc.
I have an area on my layout where I would like the display of another program to show. I talked with the maker of the program and they said to use the following.
c:\Program Files\Navigator12\PC_Navigator\PC_Navigator.exe --window_border=yes --window_position=100,100,800,600
But I'm not sure where I place that, or what code I need to put around it or anything. I am very new, and any help anyone could provide is greatly appreciated.
Is this something I do completely within my xml code, or do I need to do it a different way?
I am a little lost.
Ummm, I'm lost too. Which application is going to read this XML document and act on its contents? If it's an ordinary web browser, you're likely out of luck for security reasons.
You need to explain about the context a little more here.
Thanks for the reply!
I have a program called FuseGL (that is the program that controls the Fusion Brain)(The Fusion Brain is the circuit board which turns on and off relays).
FuseGL has an XML file that you use to change the look of the buttons, location of them, and some of the functionality of those buttons. I would like a seperate program (navagation software) to show its display inside this FuseGL window.
so when I launch FuseGL.exe I will get 1 screen that has my buttons, and also a gps window.
