Do you think there is much money to make running a web agency?

Reason for asking I started a small website of to run a web agency.
Way it works, i get traffic to my website of potential customers who want web design and web development work done.
I then deal the financial aspect with client and then i contact a contractor who does Web Design etc, usually either another freelancer independent or another company,
Make money doing a fee with client or commission from contractor.
its been slow
but anyone out there, who is more familier with web agencies? do u think they are successful on a business?
pros and cons?
