Thoughts on main navigation

Hi,

This post may be removed, as I'm not asking for help but thoughts.

On http://chrisbrighton.co.uk what do you think on the bright colors, shadowing and overall the navigation?

Thanks.

So, you are basically asking for a review for which we have a dedicated forum, and where I’ve moved this thread now.

It would be nice if the colored sections behaved as buttons, opposed to only the text being a link. :)

The navigation seems unnecessarily high to me - forcing the user to scroll down to see content every time. It might look striking, but isn't that usable.

I agree. The colored buttons could be 75% of their height, maybe 80px or so, would look much better.

Do you need help making the buttons smaller? Definitely agree with everyone else's comment on that and wondering why that hasn't changed yet. 8|

why not have the background as a clickable link at the moment you have it so the user has to click on the word

Maybe have some hover effect on where the colour changes maybe?

Too much scrolling to see the content -maybe its best to separate it out in to separate pages.
