Thrive: A Game of Evolution
1) Project Details: (be as specific as possible):
The team I am a part of is undertaking the development of an evolution game called Thrive. Thrive will be open source and free to play. It was originally widely inspired by the failure of Spore. Work is currently underway to complete the first stage of the game, the Microbe Stage. We are looking for programmers to help us in our endeavor. Programmers must be able to devote time to the project, however much they can. The game will be written in C++.
(If this is considered advertising, I apologize, and please notify me so I can take it down. I'm new here...)
2) Payment method/ details (Paypal, check? Timeline?):
Since the game will be free, developers will not receive anything other than the gratitude of the community and the satisfaction of completion. There will be no money involved. The timeline of the game is really indeterminable, since we will continue working on it as long as we can think of new things to add, like Minecraft. However, we do estimate to finish the alpha of the Microbe Stage by the end of 2012.
