Need advice for hiring developers for somewhat complex site

Hello,

I have an idea for a web based business that I have been researching for a while. I am at the point where I need to find out if I need one or two developers or a team since this is a fairly large project.

I need to begin to figure the finances for this project. Basically I am looking for advice. I have no idea how much this will cost. Should I hire a large development firm or a couple of good freelancers?

If anyone can give me some insight into costs I would appreciate it.

In a nutshell, where should I go from here?

Freelancers are the good choice. Hiring companies will burn your purse. There are number of online resources to get your choice of developer.

Look for your local freelancers so you can meet them in person if in the future you need to have a meeting, try Craiglist for list of them.
