Want to start developing dynamic web sites, is jsp usually available on ISP servers?

I am thinking that to develop dynamic web content, JSP is a good approach, but if I am to develop for small business customers, will their current hosting providers likely provide a Tomcat or other JSP platform?

Does anyone have statistics on ISP web hosting coverage for eg Tomcat and/or JSP?

Just ask the provider; there is no way to determine if JSP is available or not.

You'll never find statistics for support like this. If I had to weigh it, I'd suggest without any evidence that JSP would rank near the bottom of the popular scale hanging out with CF and ruby.
