Need SEO advice

Hi all, I have a 3 years old website that's is currently ranked well. 20+ articles. Two keywords was #1, few other keywords ranked from #4 to #7. I get around 200 UVs daily from Google. However one of my best keyword recently falled from #1 to #3. My traffic just slightly decreased but i'm worrying that if i dont do anything, competitors will jump over me at other keywords in future. I didnt do any SEO since almost 3 years ago.

I want to get that keyword back to #1 and also want to bring some others to higher position. Do you have any recommendation ? The process must be slow and steady because this site bring 80% of my income and i dont want to risk it

Thanks.
IM

if you want again keywords ranking then do simple and easy things which is effective for short period of time.. Just start forum posting and article publishing. There two methods are very essential for any website. Later on, You start Guest Posting and other SEO methods.

The thing with SEO its not a sprint but a marathon. The are a number of things to do and all should be done in moderation...

1) Link building using keyword anchor text including keyword and brand name. Do not over do the keyword anchor text as it will be seen as being spammy

2) Onsite and offsite articles around the keyword in question.

3) Social - use the power of Facebook and Twitter to increase brand awareness

There are some good articles on http://www.upsearch.co.uk (check out the blog section) on SEO tips and advice. Remember SEO takes time if done properly - don't be tempted to speed things up if you are not seeing results straight away or else you will get penalised.

I think you can check it your Google analytics if you install them in your site. In Google analytics, you can see what your keyword decreased from keywords competitor.

Or you can use market samurai and serpattacks to check your keyword and pagerank.

Just play with Google's Rules.
Go to ezinearticles.com, sbwire.com and submit 5-6 articles.
I believe for the competition you are talking about its enough.

Hi. What else could be effective than trying and generate backlinks along with an active participation in blog postings and forum postings. The more the presence of your site will be felt, the more improvement will happen to the rankings.

This kind of minor fluctuations happens in the Search Engine... so do not worry.. wait for sometimes.. may be your ranking again will come on no. 1... and if you want to get back quick then try to do some link building of your that particular page you will again no. 1
