An experienced PHP developer is needed for an exciting new web project in development by a small but expanding online business based in Bristol, UK. The project's main aim is to build a cutting-edge social networking site targetted at a specific sector, to be incorporated with other key elements including an online marketplace, an encyclopedia/wiki, and personal areas where user-submitted data can be uploaded, categorised and shared. Building these elements and drawing them together into a fully integrated, user friendly site will be demanding so only those with sufficient experience who are up for the challenge need apply. In return a very competitive salary package is offered.

The ideal candidate will have a solid development portfolio of active sites, an interest in social networking and a passion for new web trends. The successful applicant for this full-time position will at the outset be working as sole developer on the project so self-motivation and good time management are essential. The position is a dynamic one and has the potential to grow with the success of the project.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• PHP (2+ years commercial experience, involvement with large-scale ecommerce sites a plus)
• MySQL, HTML & CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX
• Knowledge of SEO techniques and best practices
• Very high attention to detail
• Ability to develop solutions and clearly communicate ideas in a collaborative environment
• Ability to work under pressure of time constraints
