updating text online
My webhost requires that I dial their number to upload pages, which is fair enough due to the price and this is fine for the design.
However, this can be a hassle if there is one page..i.e - news, which needs updating everyday from wherever I am. What would I need to learn, or how would I go about, putting a form on my page where I can type in an update online and then have it update the page - preferably overwriting the previous text and not having it as a blog. Is it cgi? Thanks Mxx |
Any server side solution will do, be it CGI, ASP, PHP, JSP... Probably, Perl/CGI would be the easiest for something like this. Go and check the Perl/CGI forum here.

Do you have a cgi-bin folder on your ISP's server? You'll need a folder that allows write access in order to do what you want.
