Flash Movie Symbol
 

Okay, I'm a little confused on how Flash Movies work as symbols.

I created this symbol called "moviesymbol" which is a 45 frame long "movie". I call that symbol into the main time line (and in the process, takes up only one frame in the main timeline). I try to play the movie whole script, but it turns out that the movie doesn't play, it just shows the text.

Does anyone know why?

What version of flash? and what type of symbol are you creating?

I'm not familiar with Flash MX but back in Flash 5 you needed to create a movie symbol in order to have animation. Graphic symbols won't run even though the two seem the same when you make them.
