    Question Problem with free version (latest --> 12-19-12)

    Hello Chump,
    I really appreciate your great efforts for this script and support. I am using latest free version (12-19-12). Script downloads the video and I am also able to see the downloaded video in videos folder. But it doesn't convert it. It says "Converting Video . . ." But no change in the progress bar and nothing happens no matter how much I wait.

    I have followed all the steps mentioned in thread
    I am using the the older version of ffmpeg from here

    You can check my uploaded script here
    http://funfeat.com/client2/yt3/index.php

    Are you familiar with this issue?
    Am I making some mistake?

    Hi,

    You should qualify your post by saying that the issue is yours, and not necessarily an issue for everyone that uses the software.

    The most recent releases of both the free and paid-for versions of my software do in fact still work. I have just tested both versions in my Ubuntu Server 12.04 virtual machine (installed packages are all fully updated/upgraded, by the way), and everything is working great.

    http://tubeconvert.net is using the paid-for version of my software. (I know this because it accepts Dailymotion video URLs and is using URL validation found in only the paid-for version.) The owner of the site has clearly neglected to update my software (or his server?) for some time now. And I know this because his site does not accept https:// URLs -- a feature that is now included in my software. So, while it's hard to say exactly how long the software on his site has not been updated, it is clear to me that it is not the most recent version.

    In any case, thank you for pointing this out, and I will remove http://tubeconvert.net from the Spotlight! section here.

    If you are having trouble converting downloaded videos, then I need to know the following:

    1) Do you have the free or paid-for version?
    2) At what exact point does the script "stop"? At the beginning of the conversion progress bar?
    3) Are there video files in your 'videos' directory?
    4) Are there FFmpeg log files in your 'logs' directory? If so, can you please paste the contents of a FFmpeg log file from a recently failed conversion (you should see errors in the log file)?

    The likely scenario here is that your server or the software itself is configured incorrectly. Please provide answers to the preceding questions, and I would be happy to assist you further with this.
    Regards, R.J.

    As my issue is same

    1)Free version (12-19-12)
    2)Downloading bar shows and completes but converting progress bar never starts. (just text changes to "Converting video. . .") In case you want to check click here
    3)Yes, videos are downloaded. a full size video in flv format
    4)No there is nothing generated in logs directory
    Also
    By commenting out "ini_set('display_errors',0);" I can see a division by zero warning message but I don't think it's the real cause

    any hint on what's going wrong?

    Thanks in advance

    I am sorry, logs directory is empty but in error_log file I got repeadtedly same warning message,

    "[01-Mar-2013 08:39:14 UTC] PHP Warning: Division by zero in /home/xctstm/public_html/client2/yt3/YouTubeToMp3Converter.class.php on line 111"

    If I comment out "ini_set('display_errors',0);" from index.php I see the same warning message on site but I don't think it has something to do with conversion of video.

    2)downloading completes but converting never starts (however the text is changed to "Converting Video . . .")
    3)Yes there are, complete videos in flv format
    4)Division by zero warning - as described above

    This warning is inconsequential and a side-effect of the download progress bar...It can be safely ignored...if you disable error reporting, the warning will go away

    Are you sure that the location of FFmpeg is set correctly in the Config class:

    PHP Code:
    const _FFMPEG = 'ffmpeg.exe';
    Is ffmpeg.exe located in the app root directory?

    Have you set permissions on 'videos', 'logs', and 'mp3' directories to chmod 0777?

    Are you running this on Windows server or XAMPP/WAMP?
    >>It's a linux server (you mentioned ffmpeg isn't required for linux server but I uploaded for in case..)

    >>ffmpeg.exe is in app root directory

    >>also location in config class is set correctly (by default)
    as:
    PHP Code:
    const _FFMPEG 'ffmpeg.exe'
    >>Directory permissions are also set to 0777 for 'mp3','videos','logs' directories

    If it's a Linux server, then ffmpeg.exe is not required, and can be deleted from your server.

    And this is incorrect:

    PHP Code:
    const _FFMPEG 'ffmpeg.exe'
    On Linux, the location of FFmpeg is generally:

    PHP Code:
    const _FFMPEG '/usr/bin/ffmpeg'
    If that doesn't work, then you can enter the following into a command prompt:

    Code:
    whereis ffmpeg
    ...to locate the FFmpeg binary on your server. Or, if you don't have shell access, then you can contact your hosting provider and ask them.
    Regards, R.J.

    Before I begin to answer your question, can you answer one of mine: Do your premium members have to pay you to acquire "premium" status? What do premium members get that free users don't? Is the service that you offer your premium members available for free on some other site?

    FFmpeg not converting solved figured it out kinda

    I was having problems converting the videos so on my vps running ubuntu in the the logs it said that ffmpeg was no longer supported and it told me to use avconv instead found at http://libav.org/avconv.html so using my vps control panel webmin i was able to install the apt avconv pointed the directory to it and got the converstions working.I am new to all this but digging around the internet i found that as a solution

    I'm having a small issue as well, I've searched the thread and can't seem to find a solution.

    Everything is converted just fine, although the progress bar is not working. It just stays at Converting video. . . and shows no progress. The video file also isn't deleted after the conversion is done so I'm assuming I'm running into an issue with ffmpeg_progress.php being executed, any ideas?

    Thanks
