MySQL 4.x & MySQL 5 both on same server

    Hi there,

We are developing web based applications for our clients. We have needed to upgrade the server so that we can run MySQL 4.x and MySQL 5 both on same server.

We need direction so that we can run MySQL 4.x and MySQL5 together on same server, so some sites would be work in MySQL 4.x and some of them will work in MySQL 5

    Expecting support to achieve this.

    Thanks !!

the problems I forsee are... you would need to have a separate version of php linking to mysql5.. then in your httpd.conf you specify which php version to load.. I haven't done this though so I could be wrong.. are you sure the mysql 4.x queries will break in 5?

What has this to do with PHP? PHP is not dependant on MySQL.
I'm not sure if this was any help, but I hope it didn't make you stupider.

Experience is something you get just after you really need it.
    PHP Installation Guide Feedback welcome.

I really wouldn't have thought that was a good idea...
