    Users Testimonials script needed please....

    Hi All,
My users of my site have been asking me to let them write their Testimonials about my site but I have no idea how to code such a script as I am not a PHP programmer but rather a customizer.

Please I really need help with this from you all Expert PHP Coders.

What I really want is, I am having a php intagrated website and I want to show the Testimonials or comments from my users at the start page whereby the last entered Testimonial or comment should be the one that users see when they visit the site with a link to the main page and when the user click the link, it takes the user to the Testimonials page.

If that's possible, it should have an Admin Area whereby a user's comment can be deleted or edited if they use inapropriate words.

I am not really sure which script language does this type of job better. But I guess a PHP should be fine as it's a server-side.

    Thanks in advance.

    XCoco.

This is a server-side issue. It should be moved to PHP Forum.

What you will do is retrieve the last comment from the database based from the posted date or from the last autonumber, depending on your db design.

What do you want us to help you with?

Javascript is not an option. You need some sort of server side storage (files or database) and a server side scripting lanuage like PHP or ASP to interact with the stored content (select it and send it to the clinet, proces the submitted coments, save the edited coments etc)
Which language to choose wll probably e determined by the hosting platform. For this sort of basic formhandling, it doesn't realy matter if you use ASP or PHP. If you are planning on doing more advanced stuff like uploading files, mailing notification, generating images/transforming uploaded images etc, then PHP is a better choice.

maybe take a look at www.hotscripts.com should be plenty of scrits and tuts about formhandling, forums, blogs admin-sections etc.

    Hi raf,

Thanks so much for your advice. From the beginning, I was not really sure which of the language I need but glenngv had suggested a server-side and I guess PHP would be the ideal one as my site is a php intagrated website.

I am not even sure how this type of script is called so to look it up in the web is equally difficult for me.

Unfortunately, I am not a php programmer but can really customize it to work for me well. So any kind of help is highly welcome.

sorry man. probably wouldn't cost me more then a few hours to write it, but i sadly don't have the time at the moment.

maybe someone else will step in ...

or you'll need to browse around a bit at hotscript or so. Should be plenty of stuff like this. For instance, search for the smalest available forum at http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...rds/index.html
