    keeping php sessions alive (+cookies?)

I use a (phpbb) forum regularly with autologin disabled. I'd like to keep my session alive permanently but without clicking refresh once within every timeout period.

I'd probably write the thing in Java just because it's familiar territory, but what I'm asking here is just what's required... all I know is that it's something more than a connection from my PC to download the page and more than editing the cookie's expire time. So I'm presuming the answer lies with PHP sessions and hence I'm asking you guys

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

session data gets deleted from the server, so I dont think what you want to accomplish is possible using the method you selected. That is kinda the point of the autologin function
