    PHP install question

I installed a php script it worked till i tryed a few things it is supposed to do and it will not work. Went back to read me and at very bottom it says

To set these permissions you have to login into your site using telnet
or ssh and run the following set of commands:

cd <directory where mail manager installed>
    chmod a+rwx upload
    chmod a+rwx data
    chmod a+rwx data/archive
    chmod a+rwx data/archive/attach
    cd data
    chmod a+rw list.dat list.txt options.inc password.inc
    cd archive
    chmod a+rw index.dat

I have no idea what that is or how to do it My ftp program cannot do it

What do i need to do it

not bad but makes your life harder as the file manager often has a chmod feature built in

you will need to get a ftp prog with chmod ability

http://www.ipswitch.com/ they have a download for trial purpuses ive used this ftp client and it does have chmod

    good luck

I've used AceFTP Pro, by Visicome (or something, quick google search for "AceFTP" will work). It comes with Chmod and so far has worked excellent for me. I think there is a free version that is available that is pretty much the same as the pro version, except with an ad when you close the program.

    No spyware either.
