How do i create a link status indicator between 2 servers

    Hi

I hope there is a PHP guru who can help me with this little link indicator problem.

I have my webpage placed on a server outsite town, this server is linked to my server at home, where i have placed all the heavy stuff.
What i'm looking for is some kind of a status indication on the webpage (in town) showing if the server at home is up running or there is a connection to it.

Just some kind of a ping every second min.
If there is a connection to my server at home it should turn green if not it should turn red.

I'm new in PHP, just installed a apache server 2 days ago

So guys if anybody out there can help me with this script or know what to look for please let me know.

    Regards

You could use this or look at it for some example-code

There are probably loads of scrips like this one.
