Help with an API, I need a basic understanding

    Hows it going everyone.
I'm pretty good with HTML+CSS, and have a very limited understanding of PHP+JS, which basically just allows me to copy/paste and make minor adjustments to personalize scripts.

I'd like to know what I would be getting into if I tried to dive into this project, or what I would be getting into if I had to hire a freelancer to do this.

Basically, I have a small publisher network, and I'd like to have a simple custom publisher portal where people can login, and then run a report. So basically get the info using the API, and post it onto the page. I have an account with Adzerk, and they have an API that lets you do this. The thing is, I have no idea where to even get started with using an API.

Here is a link to the API wiki on Github: https://github.com/adzerk/adzerk-api/wiki

If this is something simple, could someone point me in the right direction? I've been trying to find a full example of something using an API and integrating it into a site, but haven't figured out the right keywords to use in searching for it.
If this is insanely complex, could you guys give me an idea of how much work would be involved in making the simple login - grab report - post it to page setup so I can decide if its in the budget to hire a freelancer.

I appreciate everyones help, and sorry if this shouldn't be in the PHP section, I'm not too familiar with PHP

From the quick glance I got of that sites docs, you're going to need to use cURL for your http requests and you'll need to post the data as a json array. To create that you just use a normal php array and then pass it to json_encode() which will returna json array.
