    Unless sliders were added in the html specifications, which I assume they were not, you'll be using javascript to submit your form. Or I suppose you can use JS to populate a hidden field and use standard HTML to send the form.
    Either way you're typically limited to GET or POST. PUT isn't handled in an HTML form under the specifications. It doesn't matter which you really use (technically you should use GET for lookup types, and POST for update/insert types, but meh), but the GET is limited by your browser to a maximum length.
    PHP Code:
    header('HTTP/1.1 420 Enhance Your Calm');

    That's some nifty code, but I know another way of doing something similar, it's with the mousewheel action. As you roll over the div with the mousewheel, the number, set by the innerHTML, will change. And I'm sure the coding will be a lot simpler, and not copyrighted. And as the information changes, it is sent to a form input.

    Although you still need to support people without mouse wheels or with broken mousewheels

    PHP Tip: If you want to use short tags (<? or <?=$var) then make sure short_open_tag is set to "1". It really helps.
