    Do you have permission from "Powered by 9 Gag Clone Script com" to remove it?

    Give us a link to your site so we can see if it's a template (like wordpress?) or what it is.
    Most likely in a "footer" file of some kind.

    If you have shell/ssh access to your server you can do this in your web directory to find the file:

    Code:
    grep -r "Powered by 9 Gag Clone Script" *

    Free templates doesn't mean you have authorization to remove any copy-write requirements. There should be a TOS attached to the fair use of the template which should be presented as a requirement to downloading it or found within the download itself. It's also possible that there's indication within the files themselves specifying that you may not modify the files (which if the copywrite is located within the file you may not remove it). If it doesn't say you cannot remove it, than you can remove it by simply searching for it. Above is a grep command to find the files which will give you an idea of where to look if its in the filesystem. If its in the DB, you can run a similar search by selecting a LIKE on the text you're looking for (takes knowledge of the system structure to query though).
    PHP Code:
    header('HTTP/1.1 420 Enhance Your Calm');

    Sounds more like it is paid for by the display of that link. Even if it isn't you will still require the owner's permission to remove it - and they will be able to tell you how to do it.

    So I'm confused (what else is new?) ...

    The website is: http://9gag.herobo.com/
    and the thing you want to remove is: "powered by 9gag.herobo.com"

    So it's "powered-by" your own website?

    I would expect that message to indicate the name of the template author or something like that.

    If it's just some unnecessary eye candy, you can remove it. I just don't know why it's there to begin with.

    My understanding of what was said is that the page is the original template that can be copied for use on other people's site (such as that of the OP) and then the link will take people to the template page where they can get their own copy. Presumably including that link would be the only payment required to use the template since there do not appear to be any other conditions identifiable.

    If that is the OP's site rather than the template then the original question makes no sense whatever - unless the OP has already managed to illegally change where that link goes.
