    P.S. Maybe the hyperlink to the new page will eliminate those issues of loading the details loading do you think?

    Ok is it possible to have a link to the next 30 users from 31 to 60 for example at the bottom of each page, calling the next list of users, just a hyperlink from 31 to 60, now would this be a brand new .php page or you can call the same page, how would this work guys?

    WOW this is awesome, thank you so much again to everyone

    Ok UPDATE....on the bottom of the test page I have added a hyperlink to new page and on the new page I have created users 31 to 60 from the code of the page which I just changed the start at 31 to end at 60.

    http://www.mdexter.com/aoe2hdozclan.com/test.php

    What would be the way to format what the hyperlink looks like?

    EXCITING, just the code now to clean up to remove erros I guess, awesome work

    OK NEW UPDATE GUYS:

    Hi guysmany thanks for this ok so the code for the avatar icon is like this, I get the following error:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ELSE in /home/mp/public_html/aoe2hdozclan.com/test.php on line 91

    Code I added is:

    {
    $avatarIcon = $avatarIcon->getElementsByTagName('avatarMedium')->item(0)->nodeValue;
    // note ALL user data is available here
    } else $item = '<strong>ERROR</strong>';

    Which I copied from:

    {
    $userName = $user->getElementsByTagName('steamID')->item(0)->nodeValue;
    // note ALL user data is available here
    } else $userName = '<strong>ERROR</strong>';

    ________________________________________________________________________

    Where have I gone wrong here?

    And I am hoping that it slots into the avatar column but I am not sure where the structure is for this to happen, I actually wanted it to be next to the name, second from the left box instead but this doesnt work, the items juts stay in columns i,2,3,4:

    ___________________________________________________________________________

    BTW do you know what is causing the errors on each page

    Test.php

    Warning: DOMDocument::load() [domdocument.load]: Document is empty in http://steamcommunit...085870722?xml=1, line: 1 in /home/mp/public_html/aoe2hdozclan.com/test.php on line 78

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ __

    OK LINE 78 IS:

    'http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/' . $data->nodeValue . '?xml=1',
    LIBXML_NOBLANKS || LIBXML_NOCDATA
    )) {
    $userName = $user->getElementsByTagName('steamID')->item(0)->nodeValue;
    // note ALL user data is available here

    rankings2.php has same line of code and error??

    _________________________________________________________

    ALSO WITH THE PAGES I HAVE ADDED THE FOLLOWING, PLEASE TELL ME I HAVE DONE IT CORRECTLY:

    Ok for the page and its numbers I have made an additional page and added the code below so it fetches the new lot of users:

    I have at the top of the two pages:

    test.php has:

    $start = 1;
    $end = 30;

    and page 2 or rankings2.php has

    $start = 31;
    $end = 60;

    Is this the correct way to call the next lot of users guys, it cannot be called from one page can it??

    ____________________________________________________________________________

    THANK YOU THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH...AWESOME

    Hi Guys, NEW NEW UPDATE SORRY YOU GUYS WOULD BE SICK OF ME NOW LOL, ITS GETTING CLOSER......PLEASE HELP!!

    www.mdexter.com/aoe2hdozclan.com/test.php

    or the actual webpage, still in testing mode:

    www.aoe2hdozclan.com/rankings

    Ok I have added the following to the page:

    // Turn off all error reporting
    error_reporting(0);

    Because I was getting those dcom errors, so turned them off.

    I am trying to get the avatar as the next block of info, I have placed the colum for it but I want the colum for the avatar second from the left next to the name, is this possible at all??

    I have got the code below that I tried to copy the avatarMedium to get it next to the name but with errors, can someone please help me here as I have no code to copy by or what I mean is there is not more than two of the same type of code so I am messing it up, this is what I had below.

    I hope you guys can please help me here?

    foreach ($entries as $entry) {

    $data = $entry->firstChild;

    $user = new DOMDocument;
    if ($user->load(
    'http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/' . $data->nodeValue . '?xml=1',
    LIBXML_NOBLANKS || LIBXML_NOCDATA
    )) {
    $userName = $user->getElementsByTagName('steamID')->item(0)->nodeValue;
    // note ALL user data is available here
    } else $userName = '<strong>ERROR</strong>';

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _______

    $data = $entry->lastChild;

    $avatarMedium = new DOMDocument;
    if ($avatarMedium->load(
    'http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/' . $data->nodeValue . '?xml=1',
    LIBXML_NOBLANKS || LIBXML_NOCDATA
    )) {
    $avatarMedium = $user->getElementsByTagName('avatarMedium')->item(0)->nodeValue;
    // note ALL user data is available here
    } else $avatarMedium = '<strong>ERROR</strong>';

    i added this section to have the avatarMedium but no success!!
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________

    echo '
    <tr>
    <th scope="row">', $userName, '</th>';

    while ($data = $data->nextSibling) echo '
    <td>', $data->nodeValue, '</td>';

    echo '
    </tr>';

    } // foreach $entries

    echo '

    You've so many posts here I don't know what you are trying to do now.
    Can you post a single thread with the entire code (wrapped in [php][/php] tags), and what it is you are trying to do?
    PHP Code:
    header('HTTP/1.1 420 Enhance Your Calm');

    VERY SORRY FOR THAT, OK, TRYING TO DO THE FOLLOWING:

    Page is found here BTW:

    http://www.mdexter.com/aoe2hdozclan.com/rankings1.php

    1 . Remove errors, some name entries have errors and an error that comes up with the following:

    Warning: DOMDocument::load() [domdocument.load]: Document is empty in http://steamcommunit...085870722?xml=1, line: 1 in /home/mp/public_html/aoe2hdozclan.com/test.php on line 78

    The line in question is:
    PHP Code:

    isset($friendsOf) ? $friendsOf.'/' ''

    ).'?xml=1&start=' $start '&end=' $end,

    LIBXML_NOBLANKS || LIBXML_NOCDATA
    )) {

    $entries $feed->getElementsByTagName('entries');
        if (
    $entries->length>0) {
    THE LINE IN QUESTION IS THIS: )) {

    which I have a temp fix using:

    // Turn off all error reporting
    error_reporting(0);

    2. Change where avatar is and move it to where rating is, and move rating and rank to the right, and REMOVE UGCID alltogether

    3. Add the avatarMedium from xml details below which adds an avatar image to the avatar column, details of parser found here:

    PHP Code:

    <profile>
    <
    steamID64>76561197963686471</steamID64>

    Finding documentation on steam for this was very difficult, but I did eventually find it. It looks like the community xml is a deprecated approach, and they do recommend using the webapi instead. Many of these will need you to retrieve a key from steam to request.

    Okay so first and foremost, you will need to figure out a way to persist your storage. Valve won't be impressed if you start pumping hundreds of requests to them, specifically for information about users and images. That's a simple matter of recording a date and time on when you've fetched last, and going out every 15 minutes or so. As for users, that's a matter of recording information about the user in a db or on the filesystem, and only going out if you can't find existing information.

    Do you have a database available to work with, or just a filesystem storage?

    Hi Fou-Lu,

    Yes I have SQL and all sorts of things available through cpanel. I was hoping just to cache it and have it updated twice per day, I do actually have the steam API also, I hope this helps, the guy at www.aoe2stats.com is the only other person who has achieved this and he is very popular, we are a clan site for gamers by gamers and hoping to build a very large pool of players so we wanted this information available to all of our users which is what they want, again I really appreciate all your help Fou-Lu

    With regards

    Mat

    Stick with the steam web api then for sure. Use of a DB is optional of course, but IMO it does make it easier.
    What information are you looking for in particular? From this I gather, the top fourty rated players for a particular game, their username, userid (required), and avatar, as well as their score and rating for that particular game?

    Ok exact details of whats required is below, these are exactly what I require. I hope this is clear to understand. so what I have done for you is this, I have made a static page so you can see what I need visually which is here:

    http://www.mdexter.com/aoe2hdozclan.com/examplepage.htm

    OK WHAT IS REQUIRED EXACTLY AS SHOWN BELOW

    1. a cache that only updates maybe 3 times per day.

    2. 20 entries per page, and a hyperlink at the bottom page to the next page (my example has a hyperlink to page 2, and I know the entries on each page you can limit them from page 1 has 1-20 entries and page 2 has 21-41 entries etc.

    If I had the first two pages I can duplicate them to add more pages and hyperlinks etc as required.

    3. So looking at the table I am after in the table from left to right (with the table on the left of the page, so its all justified left., The table border 1px in black all the way around, the header row with bold The Rank in the first column....

    (optional) dont know if its possible for the little green arrows up and down depending on where the users were before the new rank, again optional++

    4. Next column is the USER name, which as you know comes from the steam id number and turned into the steam username.

    5. the AVATAR in the next column, using the medium avatar size.

    6. HRS TOTAL in this column

    7. HRS PLAYED LAST 2 WEEKS this column

    8. RATING in the last column

    The headers row has a colour background which I can change, and the whole text in the whole table is arial, and the header row text is bold. the table header row text in the center and the cells for the entires justified left but each cell has a little padding so the text is not on the edge of the cell walls.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    ok, the links I have in terms of resources are below:

    Yeah I think I can come up with an idea for this. DB was premature; with the 64bit userid's, it'll be easier to use a filesystem file for it than to use a db since PHP cannot guarantee 64 bit numbers and I don't want to carry around packed binary data.
    The only exception is hours total and hours in the past 2 weeks. Both of these are controlled by privacy settings, so they may not be available for display.
    PHP Code:
    header('HTTP/1.1 420 Enhance Your Calm');
