    Folder above WWW?

Hey, I'm trying to store some sensitive data in a folder above the root web directory, but I'm having some trouble.

It seems the only place I can make a folder above the www folder is in /home/ftpusername/ , which is fine, but I can't seem to access that path from includes in my scripts. I'm thinking it's maybe a virtual path? No linux pro here.

Anyone run into a similar problem, or have any other solutions?

    Thanks

Usually your home directory is set up so only you can access it, not the webserver (which is a different user).

You'll need to use a different directory to write to.

Thanks anyway, my host was able to resolve it. Turns out there was something wrong with the path alias. Cheers
