    I did like you said and added print $query and this is what it displayed in browser

    This is line 9 (taken from page 2):

    $service_performed = mysql_prep($_POST['service_performed']);

    Nothing to do with id there..

    Several possible causes..
    1) Your session has expired and the id key in your session array no longer exists
    2) You've changed your code dramatically since last posting it
    3) You've forgotten to use $ in front of id
    4) You've done something like $_SESSION[id] without using quotes inside the square brackets.
    My helpful sig is on vacation trying to loose some weight. It got a bit fat and caused a few problems but it will be back at some point!

    It works now, I forgot session_start() on maint_update page.
