    if female is chosen they are to be redirected.... however its not redirecting.

    is the correct syntax. It should appear within the <head> though.

    This meta is a legacy method and header() would be preferable, but this must occur before ANY HTML is output.

    Besides, it is sensible to redirect before running all the code (database connection, etc.).

    yeah I thought so I tried the if up top as well, considering the way a page works lol. thanks
